Nanotear, BrooklynVegan and Invisible Oranges are sponsoring a two night stint at Saint Vitus for Yob on February 10th & 11th. Support for night one will be Hull and Bezoar and night two will be Batillus plus another to be announced act. These two shows will be Yob's only East Coast appearances, no other dates are scheduled. Name changes, lineups changes and lawsuits, Decibel Magazine & guitarist Mike Scheidt unravel the story of Yob.

“I really didn’t think too much about any expectations from fans or critics,” Scheidt claims. “We were so ‘in the zone’ with our old and new material that our focus and attention were completely consumed. It wasn’t until we played our reunion show in February 2009 that I realized our new material was going to be well-received. Until then, we were just in our rehearsal space trying to write music that would make us grin like devils.”

Yob Scores An Even Seven With Pitchfork.

Yob latest album The Great Cessation scored a 7.0 on Pitchfork a couple days ago.

"...Oregon's Yob have carved out a niche of "cosmic doom," which is a descriptor, not a subgenre. Few bands do what YOB do-- marry Black Sabbath's heavy and psychedelic sides. Sabbath did both equally well. But when they wheeled out acoustic guitars and bongo drums, they were just taking a break. YOB keep the pressure up, driving riffs into subterranean depths, yet sending melodies spiraling skyward..."
